Welcome to Job Search Networking

by

[Note: The content in this module is reserved for clients who have completed a Resume coaching session or Job Search coaching session, or are members of the Career Change Club]

Mention the word ‘networking’ and you will get one of two reactions:

  • Ugh! I hate networking.  It doesn’t work.
  • Yeah, networking is great.  I love it!

So why do people feel so differently about networking? I believe it’s because:

  • Many people aren’t doing it correctly and, therefore, struggle and often fail when attempting to ‘network’
  • They have misconceptions about what networking really is about

Why network?  One way to identify job openings to read online job advertisements and respond to these openings.  But it’s estimated that only 20% of all job openings are posted online.  Many desirable positions are not advertised and their existence is never known to the general public.

If most job openings are not publicized, then how does anyone find out about them?  Usually, it’s through networking or mailing a Job Magnet Letter to potential hiring managers.

This Job Search Networking training module is here to dispel the myths and give you the tools, knowledge and strategies you need so you can network effectively and achieve positive results.

This content is separated into two categories:

Personal Job Search Networking – These training modules reveal how you can easily identify the best people to contact in your personal network, and how to nurture and maintain relationships that can lead to advice, support, introductions and job offers.

Event Networking – These training modules describe best practices you can use to network at professional associations, conferences and other business meetings to achieve your job and career goals.

(6.4) Eliminate the Interviewer’s Doubts About You

by

No candidate is perfect.  Hiring managers always have a few doubts or concerns about every candidate.

Have you ever aced an interview… and then you never heard back from the company?  Ever wonder what happened?

Chances are good the interviewer knew why they weren’t going to bring you back for another interview, but they didn’t let on to their concerns during your interview.

Imagine this:

If you could get inside the interviewer’s mind DURING the interview and learn what their potential concerns or doubts about you are…

… then you’d have the best chance to reduce or eliminate them so you can win the job offer.

Watch this training video to learn the easy way to do that.

(6.2) Align Your Experience With The Position

by

The easiest and most effective way to prove you have the skills to do the job you’re interviewing for, build your credibility, strengthen your connection to the interview, and be memorable… is to tell stories during your job interviews.

Stories are more powerful than you may know. Stories are up to 22 times more memorable than facts alone. Our brains are just more active when we’re listening to a story. Stories engage the interview and help them feel the experience.

What’s the best way to create stories for your interviews?  Follow the step-by-step formula in this training video so you can rise to the top of the interview’s list.
