Mental Health Counselor
Exciting opportunity to join a clinical team located downtown in the heart of Soho. We are a growing private psychotherapy practice currently hiring people who are clinically adept, empathetic and multiculturally competent MHC-LPs or are in the process of obtaining their MHC licensure hours. We are looking for candidates who have completed anywhere between 0-2,000 hours towards licensure and who are willing to commit to our practice for 1+ year. Professional attire and punctuality is a must!
MHC-LP candidates are required to attend group supervision every Monday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM to participate in clinical case presentations and professional development. 1 hr weekly individual supervision will also be provided to MHC-LP candidates.
Candidates must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work a minimum of four shifts including a Saturday and/or Sunday. Each shift is four, 45 minute sessions.
Applicants are encouraged to have the following experience or interests:
-Conducting individual or couples psychotherapy
-Working with racially and ethnically diverse populations
-The ability to thoroughly assess and manage crisis situations. Utilize various modalities of treatment including but not limited to psychodynamic, family systems, emotionally focused therapy, client-centered, and or CBT.
-The ability to be introspective, inquisitive and open to learning and collaborating with other Post Graduate Resident Clinicians and supervisors
-Consistently communicating all clinical issues and concerns to your supervisor
-Hold a caseload of 16-25 patients per week
-Documenting detail oriented case notes and any associated paperwork, which is due 24 hours after each appointment time
-Familiarity and comfort with the DSM V diagnostic criteria
-Adhere to the ACA code of ethics

The position for MHC-LP pays $25 per 45 minute session.

The job duties include providing individual psychotherapy sessions and completing all required case notes and paperwork. Our practice works with clients of all ages who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma and life adjustments. All hours can count towards licensure and weekly supervision will be mandatory.
