Responsibilities

  • Analyze and generate reporting to monitor and identify areas of opportunity

Discover Night, a rapidly growing company is looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to own the day-to-day logistical and operational needs of our multi-channel, consumer goods company. 3-5 years of previous experience (specifically with a consumer goods company) is a must as our environment is very fast paced requiring skills to operate independent of constant supervision. Huge opportunity to grow within company as skills are proven and relationship is solidified.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with logistics management, international supply chain, and a multi- channel retail business. He/She is hyper-organized and proactively finds ways to make the entire company more efficient. This role is intended for someone who has cross functional skills with experience in optimizing back end processes. He/she will be expected to document/implement these new processes once approved by upper management.

Operations/Logistics Leadership: Overall analysis of each of our existing operational procedures. Document, audit and record all existing process. Set KPIs, benchmarks and best practices. Ensure execution and monitor success. Provide monthly performance reports.

Item Management: Individual responsible for managing and executing item setup and management. Plus, working with accounting to ensure Quickbooks records are accurate. Item management includes, but not limited to:

  • Individual responsible for creating appropriate finished goods and component skus based inline with a intelligent ordering system.
  • Individual will manage GS1 and assign UPC to items as needed.
  • BOMs: Individual responsible for creating BOMs, managing BOMs and providing these to manufacturing and fulfillment partners to ensure accuracy of assembly.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory across multiple 3PLs. Set minimum reorder points for in line items based on lead times and sales. Make recommendations for purchase orders. Provide accurate reporting to executive team with performance metrics such as turn, shrink, etc.
  • 3PL Management: Manage constant communication with fulfillment partners. Negotiate rates and terms, look for opportunities to improve cost and efficiencies. Explore new resources based on needs and make recommendations. Responsible for auditing these charges/invoices and setting cost targets for shipping, fulfillment, and warehousing.
  • Inbound Freight Management: Manage relationship with freight forwarder. Ensure accuracy of packing list, make sure inventory is received properly and packing slips/BOLs are signed. Look for opportunities to improve efficiencies and cut cost. Responsible for auditing these invoices for accuracy.
  • Outbound Freight Management: Negotiate rates with common carriers (FedEx, UPS, USPS) and freight companies. Route pickups for warehouse customers and provide necessary documentation required for pickup (BOL, packing slips). Audit invoices for accuracy. Look for ways to improve cost (i.e: shipping material optimization).
  • Order Processing: Daily management/review/processing of new orders from all channels (wholesale and direct). Individual will be responsible for ensuring accuracy of orders received (costs, item numbers, ship dates, quantities) and every aspect of the process from the time order is received until the time it ships. Individual will need to understand intricacies of all order portals (EDI, Commercehub, vendor portals, shipstation) and look for opportunities to improve efficiencies.
  • Operations Compliance: Ensure compliance for national retail partners and logistical aspects of the business (ensuring proper labeling, carton markings, ship window adherence, etc), provide proper documentation of compliance to negate risk of chargebacks, responsible for appealing chargebacks should they occur.
  • Customer Success: Manage day-to-day customer service management, building a robust and effective feedback loop from end users to the product, growth, and development teams.
  • Special Projects: Alongside the executive team, design and execute special products related to strategy, product, and financing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This is a key position within the Dorvin D. Leis Company Inc. (DDL). The position reports to the Operations Manager and Island Manager and provides leadership, management, direction, and guidance to all of the Big Island warehouse facilities. The Warehouse and Logistics Manager must to be a strong supervisor, an effective leader and a highly regarded administrator. The Warehouse and
Logistics Manager has the responsibility to manage, coordinate and oversee all business operations of the warehouse facilities in order to effectively support the field with any and all needs they may require. They must possess very effective communication skills, be detailed coordinators, and be a strong team leader and team player. This is a dynamic position with constantly changing variables and priorities that will require the ability to be flexible and quickly adaptable. Job description:

Management of all aspects of the different warehouse facilities to include all related storage locations.

Direct activities of the warehouse facilities to obtain optimum use of equipment, facilities and personnel.

Coordinate material efforts with appropriate Construction Foreman, Project Managers and Purchasing personnel to ensure that field operations are maintained at maximum efficiency.

Enforce compliance of warehouse personnel with OSHA, administrative policies, procedures, safety rules, and governmental regulations. Train and develop employees and approve employee actions and pay changes.

Specific Responsibilities (not limited to):

Direct supervision of warehouse personnel to ensure that all warehouse resources remain constantly ready to support the field.

Receive, inspect, store, locate and issue jobsite materials and prepare required documentation and records.

Verify freight documents and purchase orders against physical shipment for correct number, damage, etc.

Document overages or shortages in material shipments and photograph damages.

Place material in proper areas according to storage and handling lists.

Implement warehouse design to accommodate material storage and handling.

Inspect and monitor warehouse cleanliness, organization and safety.

Outbound shipments – locate and prepare materials for shipment, coordinate loading and schedule deliveries.

Insure all items are warehoused (stored) according to field work procedures and company standards.

Accountable for equipment and tool maintenance, tracking. leasing, repairing, etc. and maintain all applicable records.

Provide vehicle and equipment fleet support. This will include, but is not limited to: mechanical maintenance (scheduling & performance), bodywork (scheduling & performance), and washing, cleaning &, detailing as needed. Rental and return of construction equipment. Works closely with the fleet and equipment manager.

Process local supplies as directed and required.

Placing daily orders per field requirements.

Ensure all warehouse facility conditions and employees are safe and adhere to effective safety practices.

Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisor .
