Senior Counsel

The Senior Counsel will be expected to lead projects and teams as needed, including the supervision of outside counsel within budgetary constraints.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school, and licensed to practice law in New Jersey or other relevant jurisdictions with ability to become licensed in New Jersey.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in primary concentration in commercial contracts and transactional matters at a major law firm or corporation.
- Strong academic background.
- Comprehensive knowledge of principles, practices and procedures for commercial law transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and balance commercial/legal risks against business objectives to ensure timely and appropriate result/outcome.
- Business acumen and excellent commercial judgment.
- Experience in project management and complex assignments.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), analytical abilities, and the ability to think and write clearly.

The Counseling group provides legal advice to the Firm’s client-facing professionals, leadership, quality management, risk management, and other groups within the practice. The team provides legal advice on professional practice issues, securities laws matters, regulatory, and legislative matters. Counselors also review and advise on engagement letters and other agreements related to client work. Strong litigation and/or regulatory enforcement experience necessary.
