Job Description
The VP, Corporate & Field Operations will function as a member of the Management Team and work closely with cross functional partners to deliver a best in class operations, facilities and hospitality experience for our community. Responsible for ensuring a well-trained, highly motivated workforce to provide exceptional customer service for all field activities in assigned management areas. Ensure solid execution of the company’s standardized processes and business rules in the areas of Field Operations engineering, plant maintenance, residential fulfillment and service, construction, contractor management, TQA, safety, and technical training.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the management of the daily operation of all activities supporting the field operations including all installation, service, and line activities as well as overseeing all employees and projects in those areas ensuring that the work is handled expediently and within Charter specifications.

Contribute to the company’s strategies for assigned area through the preparation of business fulfillment plans, budgeting and forecasting

Provide direction to field management for overall fulfillment of operations including technical, construction, system maintenance, safety, Field Ops engineering, TQA and cost controls

  • Communicate and support key initiatives impacting hospital staff, translating organizational objectives into market and hospital-specific action plans.
  • In partnership with the region’s RVPs, you will monitor hospital KPIs and manages the execution of plans to achieve KPI performance objectives.

Overview
Tonal is looking for an experienced leader to lead the development and execution of actions to streamline and optimize the installation and field management of Tonal connected fitness devices. Today we install our Tonal equipment mostly on wood walls through two logistics companies (XPO and Ryder) which are subcontracting the installation in customer homes through about 250 people (as of July 2021). Weekly install volumes and complexity of installs are assumed to be growing by at least a factor of 2 in the next year.

What You Will Do

    • Be responsible for the field operations processes (quality, cost and service) for all Tonal equipment including all installations (revenue, warranty, replacements) happening in the customer homes or other channels (Sales/Marketing events, Tonal or partner retail stores)
    • Meet budget for Return or Rework flows as a % of installs driven by poor installs
    • Develop innovative approaches to expand the types of walls on which we can install our Tonal equipment
    • Meet or exceed our performance metrics for Field Operations measured in safety, time to install, successful vs scheduled installs and ultimately Net Promoter Score (NPS)
    • Develop business cases and plans for continuous improvement opportunities, present and communicate those plans to Tonal management in order to gain the resources needed for their implementation
    • Develop and manage projects to capture those opportunities, in concert with the logistics and team members from other functions such as Retail/Sales, Marketing, Hardware, Manufacturing
    • Develop innovative tools and methods to ensure installation in a home is progressing toward Six Sigma capabilities
    • Create and implement a training curriculum for all installers in order to ensure the required skill level for anybody installing Tonal equipment
    • Develop audit mechanism for all installers to ensure quality of install and compliance to trainings/orientation
    • Create interactive dialog mechanism with installers to obtain their direct feedback and insights to drive continuous improvements
    • Support new channels (retail customers, healthcare) or geographies expansion by providing support for new types of walls as required
    • Help define new processes allowing Field Operations to gain scale and provide required customer service as we grow our business
    • Be a change agent: challenge organizational leaders to drive continuous improvement within Tonal Logistics team and in the broader Operations team
    • Support definition and building of installation standards and productivity metrics
