Indeed is seeking a Data Governance Analyst in the product engineering organization. You are the owner for data within a division of the company. You will work closely with the leadership of your business area to understand the data your team relies on, create data definitions, and outline how data can/should be used. Your team will rely on you to own the data they use to make decisions, perform analysis, and track progress. You will acquire a deep understanding of the business you support.

Data Governance Analysts at Indeed must be jacks of all trades: you will need analytical skills, technical knowledge of our data pipeline, and excellent communication skills. This is an ideal role for a talented analyst who wants to take their strategic planning and communication skills to the next level.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be the owner and subject matter expert for critical data within a business unit at Indeed
  • Work with a set of stakeholders to identify the data required to operate an area of the business. Define what it means to have complete and accurate data
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to define requirements for capturing/logging new data; coordinate with product and engineering on new product lines to ensure all new data created is incorporated into our data governance model
  • Drive consistency of data across front (web app, 3rd party tool) and back end systems (application to application)
  • Communicate with internal teams at Indeed who rely on your data. Build consensus on definitions, calculations, and data sources
  • Lead and maintain all data documentation and metadata management efforts for your business unit
  • Serve as the internal expert for reports, data definitions, data quality, and data lineage for your business unit.
  • Manage the migration of existing reports to use certified datasets
  • Contribute to the development of training materials and deliver / coach 1: 1 or small groups on the new processes across the data governance lifecycle

About you:Qualifications:

  • 2+ year industry experience as a business analyst, data analyst, or in a data quality management role
  • 2+ year experience with SQL or equivalent database querying language
  • Familiarity with computer programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar; comfortable reading, troubleshooting, and understanding or demonstrates strong aptitude to learn additional coding languages

Overview:
 
This position will be a part of CIT’s Data Governance Office and will support the Data Quality function by defining and scripting data quality rules, continuously monitoring the quality of data across various sources, developing KPIs and reports, and tracking/re-mediating issues throughout their life cycle.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and profile various interrelated databases using SQL to obtain complete comprehension of the data
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and subsequently define business rules

The Data Governance Analyst will work with senior members of the team and stakeholders from business units throughout MRSI, to support development and implementation of a data governance program. Duties include documenting methods, responsibilities, processes to standardize, integrate, protect and store data; monitoring and reporting on data quality; maintaining business rules and data dictionaries; and engaging business leaders to steer the evolution the companies’ data assets .

A successful individual will have very baseline technical knowledge of data management concepts using both current and emerging best practices and technologies. They will enjoy spending a considerable amount of time rolling their sleeves to solve problems and an aversion to slow pace of execution and the same old ways of doing things.

This role reports to the Head of Data & Analytics as part of a function that is accountable and responsible for the reliable delivery of data and insights that the business needs to understand performance and adjust strategy and operate smoothly in the face of ambitious growth and changing technology and operating models internally, and a shifting risk and competitive landscape.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with Data, Analytics and Digital Enablement team ensure consistency in business rules, data models and transformations process.
  • actively rationalize data elements towards simplicity and shared meaning
  • Monitor business practices framework for consistent, uniform data collection processes across the organization.
  • Implementing quality assurance framework for higher confidence in data through validation standards and as well as complete documentation of data processes, rules and quality issues
  • Increasing the scalability of the analytics and reporting work at a technical, business and organizational level through clear rules for changing data related processes;

Qualifications

  • Technical: baseline knowledge of data concepts and/or experience in a data function, preferably in heavily regulated organizations, with complex operating structures and architectures, and diverse processes for transacting business.
