We are recruiting for the position of Fine Art Consultant for our New York City location. The ideal candidate will be an ambitious self-starter with proven sales.

WCC is seeking an experienced and professional Gallery Director to join our team in New York. Gallery Director is responsible for overseeing a team of sales consultants and achieving sales goals. The Gallery Director is also in charge of maintaining relationships with gallery artists and managing exhibitions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Provide vision and leadership on implementing initiatives and a go-to-market strategy to expand revenue streams with the goal of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Mentor and provide inspiring training for staff in all aspects of art sales and art education
  • Implement a strategy for staying in touch with clients that includes a CRM.
  • Genuinely enthusiastic about contemporary art with prior experience and knowledge of the artists in the gallery’s stable is a plus
  • Knowledge of fine art gallery best practices
  • Attention to detail
  • Previously published art writing, catalog essays or arts education text is a plus
  • Private or corporate art advisory experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of frame shop business and framing practices
  • Proven ability to organize exhibitions, and liaise with artists, writers and designers
  • Experienced in dealing with valuable art and high net-worth clients
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong network of established contacts within the region and national art scene a plus

EDUCATION

MFA in Art, MA in Art History, Arts Management, or Arts Administration strongly preferred, or a BA in art or related subject, plus extensive art world sales experience

COMPENSATION

Compensation will depend on experience and consists of a base salary and a bonus based on gallery sales. The salary listed in this posting represents an estimated annual base salary.

Art Advisor / Art Sales Associate

The Sales / Art Advising Team at Tappan works with interior designers, private art collectors and other clients on their art needs.

The art advisor / art sales associate will report to the Director of Special Projects and support the team by working with clients from start to finish, from moodboards to art curations to budget management and artwork delivery and installation. This role will be tasked with authentically increasing sales by presenting art options, providing exceptional service from start to finish, and active outreach to contacts.

What you’ll do

  • Manage day-to-day project details for private collectors and trade clients, including artwork specifications, production and delivery schedules, and final installation, tracking deadlines and project costs, and staying on top of next steps.
  • Identify high-potential clients and flag to Director of Special Projects.
  • Increase sales volume by providing active outreach to existing and new collectors and trade clients. Identify opportunities to expand Tappan’s clients.
  • Provide exceptional service – from curation to installation – so that collectors and trade clients increase their sales volume.
  • Act as a liaison between Tappan stakeholders, including internal team members, artists, framing companies, and key project contacts.
  • Help develop and structure presentations, utilizing assets to create visually compelling presentations.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule, understanding deadlines, budget, milestones, and key project deliverables.
  • Able to negotiate and reprioritize project schedules, milestones and deliverables to meet business objectives.
  • Weekly reporting to internal and external teams on all project statuses.
  • Update Salesforce on clients and client potential. Update Asana on large trade projects.

Skills
