Responsibilities

This position is responsible for maintaining network support, help desk support, reviewing current operational procedures, and assisting users with network and PC hardware/software related issues. Also, responsible for maintaining optimal performance of servers, network devices, communication devises and telephone systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct functional requirements analysis of MIS LAN operation support duties. Provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Supervises the PC Specialist position and other contractors as needed.
  • Monitor network operations to ensure normal function and provide early detection of performance problems.
  • Maintain documentation and support logs concerning equipment, maintenance, repair and incidents.
  • Develop user documentation as required for device and network operation.
  • Develop LAN documentation as required regarding LAN support requirements.
  • Plan for and maintain the data security for all Bridgestone Systems.
  • Perform daily and periodic system backups for all iSeries and Network servers. Perform system backups during weekend off hours as directed by Direct of MIS or policy.
  • Maintain proactive approach to problem analysis and resolution. Be sensitive to the user community while keeping sight of business objectives.
  • Provide timely problem resolution to user and system problems.
  • Perform operations procedures in accordance with established Daily Standard Operating Procedure guidebook.
  • Provide MIS Director with network performance analysis and disk usage summary analysis reports as required.
  • Administer phone system changes and enhancements
  • Administer e-mail system changes and enhancements.
  • Provide on call support as directed by MIS Director.
  • Consult with Director of MIS or Supervisor in complex and/or unusual circumstances.
  • Microsoft O365 System Administration Experience and working knowledge of the suite of tools. (Excel, Teams, One Drive, Outlook, etc…)
  • Microsoft Azure, Intune Endpoint Manager, Defender, SharePoint, Exchange
  • VMWare ESXi 6.7 System Experience
  • WatchGuard Firewall System Configuration/Management Experience
  • Network Switches/ Router / WAP Configuration Experience and Security

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Systems Administrator will possess the experience and skills to support and maintain in a role within the Exelon IT organization by providing operational technical insights to stakeholders regarding IT system solutions being deployed within the enterprise environment. Must possess ability to monitor and maintain fundamental IT system initiatives and projects, [to include both cloud, non-cloud and hybrid-cloud models].

Systems Administrator will be expected to provide technical expertise to support delivery and maintenance of IT solutions supporting Exelon. Must have the ability to evaluate IT infrastructure and application solutions and make recommendations for supporting application and data workloads within various hosting models. Demonstrate skills for basic monitoring, configuration and maintenance of, current hosting services to support virtual hosting technologies, software defined datacenter technologies, hyper-converged datacenter hardware solutions, and software tools. This role will work in collaboration with other IT teams, their leadership, enterprise business partners, vendors and project/design teams, in all aspects of the secure & reliable hosting of applications throughout Exelon's large & complex enterprise and real time operational environments.

  • Support projects, planning, maintenance and operations.
