Job description

PO&G Resources is a rapidly growing, twenty-three-year-old private oil and gas company. With our growing operations in Oklahoma and the launch of a second investor fund, the company is hiring an Operations Engineer for its gas and oil operations in Oklahoma.

Basic Function:

This position will be located in Oklahoma City (El Reno) and will be responsible for engineering, monitoring, and optimizing well operations to ensure efficient production while maintaining safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring lease production.
  • Identifying, diagnosing, and remedying issues affecting production levels.
  • Preparing well and lease level economic evaluations.
  • Analyzing pumping unit rod string designs utilizing the S Rod design program.
  • Develop projects to increase production and enhance field operations.
  • Weekly trips to field locations to optimize operations and regularly meet with field personnel.
  • Managing field personnel to maximize the cash flow and value of our oil and gas assets while ensuring our operations are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
  • Mutually develop with Senior Operations Engineer/Oklahoma Asset Manager, production targets and actively monitor actual production to aggressively undertake corrective actions as warranted to ensure consistent production twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Working with a team of field personnel to:

  • Provide strategic, technical, and operational perspective to the team.

  • Mutually develop with Senior Operations Engineer/Oklahoma Asset Manager cost targets and actively monitor actual costs to aggressively undertake corrective actions as warranted.
  • Identify, evaluate, recommend, and execute opportunities to maximize value through well reactivations, artificial lift enhancements, waterflood optimizations, battery and SWD consolidations, etc.
  • Identify, evaluate, recommend, and execute capital investment projects such as injection well conversions, recompletions, new drilling, etc.
  • Develop procedures to maximize value of existing and acquired properties by identifying and executing three-pronged strategy of operating costs reductions, production enhancements, and capex program.

Essential Job Functions

  • Prepare procedures and AFEs for performing stimulation on new wells, re-stimulation on producing wells, clean outs, flow back, and workovers. Track projects and perform post audit with emphasis on learning best practices.
  • Provide supervision and quality control on completions, coil tubing operations and workovers.
  • Daily coordination with field personnel.
  • Prepare inventory requirements for long lead items and issue bids for services, purchase orders, material transfers, to optimize spending and budget considerations. Interface with vendors and service providers to ensure equipment and services are provided in a timely manner.

Petroleum Operations Engineer

Provides technical support within the Gas Storage Operations and Reservoir Integrity and Engineering organizations for operation, maintenance, integrity verification and capital improvements.
