About this role:

iRhythm is looking for an experienced Director, HR Compliance and Employee Relations to lead and evolve the Human Resources compliance function by designing and implementing a compliance framework including policies, practices, and ongoing governance and monitoring. The Director will also establish and implement a global employee relations framework including creating policy and standardizing processes for investigations, from problem identification, through mediation to resolution.

In addition to conducting investigations, this role will continuously improve ER practices within the global organization to support a positive work culture and environment. This role will partner closely with Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit and the global HR departments on strategy and processes for management of HR-related enterprise risks or other employment-related regulatory and compliance matters.

Areas of responsibility include:

HR Compliance

  • Design and develop programs, policies, and practices to maintain the company's compliance with all federal, state, and local employment-related regulatory requirements such as FMLA and ADA.
  • Lead the management, communication and updates to HR policies and procedures.
  • Develop a regular cadence and monitoring of employment regulations and guidance in the U.S. and outside the U.S. and translate into HR policy and procedure updates, communications, and training
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action programs; file EEO-1 annually; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations including roll out and monitoring.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition with regards to affirmative action, applicant tracking, job disposition codes, data integrity, and other compliance processes related to talent acquisition.
  • Partner with legal counsel on legal employment claims and litigation and/or DOL audits and responding to subpoenas and record requests for personnel files and employment records.
  • Advise on accommodations related to disabilities, medical conditions, and religion.
  • Develop and implement audit process to ensure adherence to compliance standards; proactively engage in HR risk assessments.
  • Partner with Internal Audit and external advisors on Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) HR reporting requirements. Training HR team on and managing SOX controls for HR functions.
  • Ensure compliance standards are adhered to regarding employment processes, data management, and applicable employment reporting requirements.

Employee Relations

  • In collaboration with HR Business Partners and Employment Legal Counsel, manage overall employment risk and complex and sensitive employee relations matters from problem identification, through mediation, to making recommendations on appropriate course of action for resolution.
  • Develop and implement standardized processes, guidelines, and practices for investigations, including tracking and documenting.
  • Conduct confidential investigations of claims of harassment, discrimination, bullying, retaliation, and other policy violations, and provide guidance on outcomes and communication.
  • Assist in the preparation of comprehensive investigation reports which include recommendations for complaint resolution.
  • Analyze ER trends to develop solutions and strategies and make recommendations based on ER-related data; Produce ER dashboard and analytics to show progress and trends
  • Present investigation findings and trends at executive levels, facilitating decisions where appropriate.
  • Ensure ER cases are handled fairly and consistently in a timely fashion, and in line with company values and applicable laws
  • Provide guidance to HR Business Partners on coaching conversations and disciplinary actions.
  • Design, develop, and deliver ongoing employee relations and policy related training.
  • Partner with the broader HR team on HR compliance and employee experience initiatives as needed.
  • Manages all exit interviews and analyzes trends with recommended approaches to resolve areas of concern
  • Lead special projects that help drive insights and impact to our workforce. Strategically, this role will be responsible for leveraging data to provide proactive and strategic insights to the CHRO and the executive team.

About you:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education and experience
  • Advanced degree in Human Resources or related field, or JD preferred
  • Experience in the healthcare, life sciences, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry a plus
  • 10 plus years of progressive responsibilities in Human Resources roles, with a focus on compliance, policy and procedures, and employee relations
  • Extensive, specialized knowledge of U.S. federal, state and local labor laws, regulations and practices including EEOC, SOX. ISO, Affirmative Action Plans, ADA, FLSA, FMLA and other industry compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of international HR compliance and practices

RESPONSIBILITIES
