SAIC is currently seeking Biological and/or Chemical Detection support with a background or experience in food, agricultural, and veterinary defense (FAVD) for Research and Development (R&D) efforts under Department Homeland Security Counter Weapons of Mass Destruction (DHS CWMD). This position can be worked 100% remote nationwide.
The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in one or more of the following fields of study: animal science, veterinary science, pathogen diagnostics, biology, biophysics, biochemistry, biomedical engineering, or Select Agents and Toxins. The successful candidate will have biological subject matter expertise and be able to provide technical support with knowledge of methods for searching, collecting, and collating information. Duties and responsibilities include research and development as it relates to materiel solutions in support of the DHS mission, Program Management Office (PMO) support, interacting with government, academic, and private industry representatives, as well as National Laboratories and other SMEs, engineers, and support staff within CWMD.

Position Purpose
The Dartmouth Institute for Biomolecular Targeting (bioMT) is seeking an experienced staff member to join its Core Facilities (Molecular Tools Core and Molecular Interactions and Imaging Core). The successful applicant will possess knowledge and hands-on experience on the design, production, and biophysical characterization of recombinant proteins. The Protein Biochemist will employ high-throughput approaches for construct design and protein expression and develop purification workflows involving multiple chromatographic methods (e.g., AP, IEC, SEC). Previous experience with structural analysis (x-ray, or cryoEM) of proteins and/or in proteomics will be highly desirable. This person will actively contribute to and facilitate multidisciplinary research projects across the Dartmouth community. Other activities include but are not limited to, data collection and reporting, equipment maintenance, and training of bioMT investigators.
