Job Summary:

The ESG Program Senior Specialist is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of the company’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies, with a particular focus on Corporate Sustainability Reporting. This role involves producing comprehensive ESG reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, and promoting sustainability initiatives across the organization. The specialist will collaborate with various departments to collect and analyze ESG data, enhance transparency, and communicate the company’s sustainability efforts to stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the ESG compliance reporting strategy, ensuring alignment with applicable standards and stakeholder expectations and drive the implementation and prepare corporate certification of ISO 14064 (20%)
  • Oversee the preparation of ESG analysis for internal and external stakeholders, including the release of the Corporate Sustainability Report while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of ESG reporting processes. (15%)
  • Develop and produce detailed ESG reports, including annual corporate sustainability reports, aligned with frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and TCFD and review/maintain environmental regulations/permits along with determining whether they are being applied properly and make recommendations to maintain and improve environmental performance. (15%)
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to regularly discuss strategy and goals, monitor progress, highlight challenges and support various initiatives and activities towards ESG goals and engage and manage current third-party relationships in support of delivering on our environmental goals (15%)
  • Develop and expand our internal and external brand and reputation ensuring we highlight topics most relevant to current and potential employees, customers and suppliers. (10%)
  • Provide technical support for environmental remediation projects and legal actions (10%)
  • Conduct environmental training classes (5%)
  • Conduct special projects and perform additional duties as needed. (10%)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental management, sustainability management, business administration, public policy, or science; Master’s degree highly preferred
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience

Your role:

The ESG Analyst will support efforts to integrate sustainability and regulatory compliance into the company’s physical and digital supply chains. This role involves implementing climate-related strategies within the supply chain, addressing Scope 3 GHG emissions inventories, developing and operationalizing climate transition plans, and supporting disclosures aligned with frameworks such as the EU CSRD, TCFD, and the GHG Protocol. This role combines research, analysis, and project implementation to advance WMG’s ESG program and meet evolving regulatory and sustainability expectations.

Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct detailed research to support ESG-related projects, including life cycle assessments, scenario planning, and risk analyses, especially within the physical supply chain.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify opportunities for reducing environmental impact, advance ethical supply chains, and improve compliance.
  • Conduct supplier risk screenings, identify compliance gaps or sustainability risks, and collaborate with teams to resolve issues and ensure alignment with regulatory and sustainability goals.

JOB SUMMARY

In this role, you will support the preparation of global regulatory filings to comply with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) related reporting requirements. This will include understanding and advising on regulatory reporting requirements and assisting with the data collection process by developing a process and control structure to govern relevant data ensuring its completeness, accuracy and auditability. In addition, this role will help support and drive continuous improvement within the ESG reporting process and partner with consultants and auditors as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain a comprehensive understanding of the reporting requirements and underlying reporting frameworks for all applicable reporting regulations, specifically ESRS, ISSB, and TCFD.
  • Assist with the regulatory filing preparation, including performing initial readiness work for all ESG reports. This will include information and data gathering, content development and external assurance.
  • Collaborate closely with the ESG Controller, key internal leaders, data owners, technical functions, internal audit and external assurance providers to develop and maintain a well-controlled, standardized internal reporting process for ESG.
  • Assist the organization with data gap disclosure analysis and oversee the development and implementation of remediation plans, as applicable.
  • Engage with global business partners and advise on the design and implementation of process and controls to govern relevant ESG data.
  • Lead efforts around ESG data management, identifying opportunities to streamline and simplify Polaris’ data structure, championing efforts to reduce waste and gain efficiencies through data optimization.
  • Partner with the ESG Controller to manage the day-to-day activities supporting Polaris’ various reporting workstreams.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in audit, compliance or regulatory reporting roles, experience in corporate sustainability or related fields a plus.
  • Strong understanding of PCAOB compliance standards, Sarbanes Oxley, COSO, and IT audit concepts.
